Comment:Assalamu alaykum
I found the article informative. However I was disappointed with the sisters reaction who wrote the long article, I was surprised to see her comment ' I understand where you are coming from but i am sorry to say i disagree in not celebrating it'
Once Allah swt and His Prophet saw have made matters plain it is not for a believer to have a say in that matter. Would any sane Muslim tell me that the Prophet saw celebrated halloween or sent his family or companions trick or treating (Allah be pleased with them all) The answer is absolutely not. So what possible benefit can halloween have for a believer. The Qu'ran and Sunnah address all aspects of life It is time to realise that society's only hope is to return to the Qu'ran and Sunnah and quit making our own judgements based on things like HAVING A FUN DAY OUT. Surely any day can be enjoyable not just one day of the year. I ask Allah to forgive all the muslims and allow us to die with eeman and to guide non muslims also to your path and to gain your pleasure Ameen

Comment:this article is in fact informational but very bias. if you are going to post something for educational purposes then leave your opinion of the evils out of it. you might paranoy someone. halloween now a days is just for fun despite the "evil traditions".

Comment:aslam-o-alikum,
i am a practicing muslim and i can assure you that i have sincere beliefs about islam, i love my religion and the background and logic of it. I think that Islam is the most simple religion of good faith. I read your article about halloween. and i understand where you are coming from, but i am sorry to say i disagree in not celebrating it. although at one point i was associated with the pagan celts and at one point with the christians. But i really do believe that the holiday has evolved in numerous ways, in fact most Christians that celebrate this holiday DO NOT even know the background of it. In fact, the Christians themselves changed the holiday in a way (name chage, association with a saint) to unstress the ridulous belief of evil spirits and harmful witches. The pope turned this holiday into "All Saints Day", what does this tell you? christian's turned this holiday into something christian so it would still be okay to celebrate the holiday but for different purposes.
many pakistani indians have done the same thing, for example the prophets family in the 8th century A.D. did not have henna for the bride or "rasmay like dudpilaye" etc, the newly wed brides in the 8th century did not wear red embrodered dresses with with a see-through dupatta and lots of makeup. These are traditions that we have evolved and have been inspired by the hindus. The hindus, whom have extremely different and illogical beliefs from us. But those traditions that we have taken from the hindu culture are considered alright by islamic imams and scholars. Hindus wear such lavish dresses and "rasmay" because there gods did them. Now a days, a reason why muslims do the same traditions as hindus because many hindus don't understand the logic behind their traditions. so why not halloween, why is halloween not accepted, when 99% of the population that celebrates Halloween does not understand the significance of this holiday. In fact the rebirth of the Halloween festival/holiday is only about 20 years old, the purpose of such a holiday is SOLELY fun.
i am sorry but i totally disagree where you say that it's a bad holiday. The holiday of Halloween nowadays is not something about christian or Druids, nowadays Halloween is fun holiday for kids so they can go out and have candy. JUST A FUN HOLIDAY, if you think that it's a holiday to follow a cult, well it's unbelievable because the message behind halloween nowadays is not even the same. i mean we as muslims believe in praising our ancestors that were good muslims---to go by the christian way---second Halloween is just for harmless fun, it does not hurt anyone, in fact it is a fun ritual so kids get to dress up.

Comment:Very good article thanks and highly informative. May I also congratulate the comment from the "realistic muslim", for being highly normal : this world needs more people like yourself.I thought the bit on "advice for haloween" totally out of place and politically correct nonsense. In the UK Haloween is a childrens party time, nothing absolutely nothing else. If you analyse anything to such a depth you'd never do anything as it would "offend" someone.

Comment:While I don't doubt the origins of halloween, the conclusion drawn by the article is what I believe is wrong with Islam today. If you really believe that children dressing up in costumes and going around to their neighbours and receiving candy is evil then we as a muslim society need to give our heads a shake and hopefully wake up to reality. We have made Islam so rigid and inflexible that we cannot seem to live with the non-muslims on this planet. I respect anyone that reaches the decision not to participate in halloween. In fact, I think it is a silly children's holiday but I do not believe that it is EVIL. That is just pure nonsense!

Comment:Having been bought up to avoid halloween festivals I never did know why it was wrong. I didnt ever think it had a historical/religious significance, just thought it as another festival. Subhanallah this article has clearly submitted the evil of this day. A truly wonderful Article Mashallah.
