Comment:Assalamualaikum- A well-written and -researched article. Just for general information, there are organizations in Northern California that offer family/couple counselling and shelter to battered women, which I think is a wonderful and necessary service. The American Muslim community as a whole needs to be more organized and active in supporting the needs of our women, so instead of being defensive when accused of mistreatment of women, we can be examples of the best care for women in any existing community.
