| 104.001. Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, |
104.001. Woe unto every slandering traducer, |
| 104.002. Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, |
104.002. Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. |
| 104.003. Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! |
104.003. He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. |
| 104.004. By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, |
104.004. Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. |
| 104.005. And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? |
104.005. Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! |
| 104.006. (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) God kindled (to a blaze), |
104.006. (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, |
| 104.007. The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: |
104.007. Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). |
| 104.008. It shall be made into a vault over them, |
104.008. Lo! it is closed in on them |
| 104.009. In columns outstretched. |
104.009. In outstretched columns. |
