Recitation of the Qur’an is a form of worship that requires perfection as far as possible. Tajweed is an Islamic science designed to ensure that. It is defined as: the recitation of the Qur’an as it was revealed to Muhammad (sws), the Messenger of Allah (swt).
This program aims at developing excellence and precision in reciting the Words of Allah. It is based on the popular book “A Brief Introduction to Tajweed” by Umm Muhammad, a copy of which is included inside.
The program teaches proper pronunciation of Arabic letters and the basic rules of Tajweed with examples and exercises. Also included is an instruction recitation of short surahs by Shaykh Mohammad al-Ra’ee, which gives the student an opportunity to recite each verse after him – a classical proven method for memorizing and learning the Qur’an.
Umm Muhammad is the author of numerous works on Islamic topics, including her popular translation of the Qur’an by Saheeh International.
Shaykh Mohammad al-Ra’ee, an expert in tajweed, is not only certified from Al-Madina Al-Munawwara, but a link in a chain of authentic reciters going directly back to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) as well.
