Much is being made of two Muslims who took Pamela Geller’s bait and were killed in Garland, Texas, where she was hosting her hateful “Draw Muhammad” art contest of May 2015. However, what is not being discussed is the stellar way Dallas area Muslims have overall dealt with her hate, and the Islamophobia movement in general.

The hate campaigns of Pamela Geller, her collaborator Robert Spencer, and her lawyer, David Yerushalmi have inspired violence and hysteria in the USA and around the world. Pamela Geller & Robert Spencer co-founded Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) and the Freedom Defense Initiative (FDI).

While Muslims love and deeply respect Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, others regularly heap abuse on him in ways that are very painful for Muslims to bear. This requires patience and fortitude.

Hijab is fundamentally part of worship but, right or wrong, it has become a political statement as well. We may only be expressing our commitment to our Deen (religion) but Hijab is seen to symbolize a rejection of the West.
