BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The operations of the Sound Vision Foundation are overseen by our Board of Directors. Currently, our board is comprised of the following individuals.

ABDUL MALIK MUJAHID is an imam and an award winning author and producer. He is the founder of Sound Vision Foundation and executive producer of daily Radio Islam show at WCEV 1450 AM, a daily public affairs program. He is Chair-elect of the Council for a Parliament of World Religion. Sound Vision has been a longstanding voice for creative engagement between Chicago Muslims and the larger community. He is the former Chairperson of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago. He also served at the Faith Advisory Council of the Democratic National Committee as well as on the Credentials Committee of the DNC 2008. As the national coordinator of Bosnia Task Force, USA, in 1990s he successfully led efforts in collaboration of National Organization of Women (NOW) to declare rape as a war crime.

Imam Mujahid has written extensively on religion, public policy and applied aspects of Islamic living. He has authored one book in sociology, Conversion to Islam: Untouchables Strategy for Protest in India. This book was awarded as outstanding academic book of the year by American Library Association.

DR. MUHAMMAD KHALID RIAZ is a Director and secretarty of the Sound Vision Foundation Inc. Dr. Khalid Riaz is listed among the 500 most influential Muslim personalities all over the world, for his contribution in development sector in a bid to alleviate poverty in Pakistan. A practicing cardiologist in Illinois, Dr. Riaz holds an MBBS from King Edward Medical College Lahore. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physician. Dr. Riaz has served as President Medical Staff, Sherman Hospital, Elgin 1993. He was a member board of director Sherman Hospital, Elgin 1990—1993. The board oversees the organizational and financial management of this 350-bed hospital. Dr. Riaz has served as treasurer, secretary, and president of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA) 1989-1992. This association deals with 5,000 physicians, surgeons, and dentists in North America. He was Treasurer/Secretary of APPNA SEHAT 1989—1996. This health program deals with 105,000 lives. Dr. Riaz is the founding president of the Human Development Foundation (HDF). 1997-present.

TAUFIQ AHMAD is a Director and treasurer of the Sound Vision Foundation Inc. He is currently a Software Development Manager atMotorola in the area of GSM/GPRS/UMTS Software Development, supervising 27 software engineers. He has a double B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an expert in the area of Global Standards for Mobile Communications (GSM), telecommunication call processing and protocols. Mr. Ahmad works at Motorola with the 2nd Generation (2G) GSM Digital Cellular System, 2.5G GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and 3rd Generation (3G) UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System). He is also the principal of the Elgin Islamic weekend school. 

MUHAMMAD FUAD LASHKARWALA is a Director of the Sound Vision Foundation Inc. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has worked in different positions in civil engineering and computer aided design. Presently, he owns and runs his own business. He has been an advisory board member of Sound Vision since its establishment.
