A sample press release for Eid
Eid prayers are a great opportunity to talk about Islam and get media coverage
for it. One way of doing this is by putting together and sending out a press
release to media outlets in your town or city. Here is a sample you can easily
put together to invite the media to Eid prayers arranged by your local mosque.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
-While Eid prayer will be held on February 23, festivities will take place between
February 22 and February 25. As well, please note that every year, Eid-ul-Adha
coincides with Hajj, a pilgrimage Muslims must make to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia
which is a religious obligation. This year, the peak day for Hajj will be February
22 (which is the ninth day of the Islamic month in which Hajj is performed,
known in Arabic as Zul Hijjah).
-Since this is a prayer service, media professionals who will be attending,
both men and women, are asked to dress modestly (i.e. no short shorts or skirts,
tank tops, etc.). Women reporters, photographers and/or camera women may be
asked to cover their hair with a scarf while at the prayer service.
