As a young Muslim, I have been asked many questions about my religion throughout the years. One of the questions that I have been asked quite frequently is about my experience as a Muslim in a public school.
Bullying, Islamophobia, violence, drugs, sex, and haram relationships – these are just some of the dangers Muslim parents fear when sending their children to public school.
Breast cancer is a serious disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “in 2020 there were 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer and 685, 000 deaths globally.
“Oh You who believe . . . help one another in piety and goodness and do not help one another in sin and aggression, and be careful of your duty to Allah, surely Allah is severe in requiting.”
The Quran is the Word of Allah and an answer to the prayers of those who call upon Him for guidance. The first chapter of the Quran, Surah Al-Fatihah, also named The Opening, is a supplication to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, to keep us on the Straight Path.
There are numerous reasons why Muslim parents want their children to memorize the Quran. It is part of our tradition and a feat that sets us apart from other religious adherents.
