Eid Planning & The Best of Last Days

In this newsletter

Assalamu alaikum:

With Ramadan wrapping up in less than one week, it’s time to make Eid plans.

This year, some places will remain in strict lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic; others will have Masjids open with the restrictions that have become part of our new normal: pre-registering for prayers, temperature checks at the entrance, having worshippers bring their own prayer rugs, and maintaining six feet between them during prayers.

There is no turning back from the pandemic. But this year, Alhamdu lillah, things are looking far better than last Eid-ul-Fitr, which is why we need to doubly plan for making this holiday so special. Converts, those who are away from family, Muslims in the military, and our kids are some of the key constituencies we often focus on when it comes to making Eid special, as we should (and we have great tips and ideas on how to do that in our articles this week).

But if you are not in any of the above three categories, making Eid special for yourself has never been more important. It’s about celebrating the important and a time like no other. It’s about gratefulness to Allah, and showing that happiness even in the most grim of circumstances.

May Allah bless us with many more Ramadans and Eids to worship, celebrate, and praise Him in.

Eid Mubarak!

Peace,
