Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened to room temperature
1 cup white sugar
¾ cup light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla flavoring of choice
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt/sea salt
About 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375F/190C.
- Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or spray it lightly with oil and set aside.
- Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- In another mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until well combined. Then beat the eggs and vanilla until nice and fluffy.
- Add the dry ingredients slowly and mix until combined into a cohesive dough. (Take care not to overmix here or it will make your cookies more like a bread texture.
- Add the chocolate chips and stir in by hand.
- Take 2-3 Tbsp of dough, roll them into balls and place them evenly spaced across the baking sheet. You can also use a cookie scoop or scoop by free hand with a spoon. The recipe makes approximately 36 cookies.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just starting to turn brown, if you like them soft and chewy; if you like them crispier, then bake for an extra minute or so.
- Take them out of the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack (or eating them while they’re hot!).
- Last step is to say Bismillah and enjoy!
