Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, I need not pause to say how very delighted I am to be here tonight, and how very delighted I am to see you expressing your concern about the issues that will be discussed tonight by turning out in such large numbers.
Understanding, learning and patience are just some of the things that are necessary at this critical time for all of us trying to heal from the wounds of the September 11 tragedy and deal with the war.
The fight for civil rights; the struggle against pornography; the aim for better children's television programming: these are concerns of most Muslims and a number of non-Muslims. With talents and resources on both sides, can Muslims and non-Muslims work together on common causes for the greater good?
