You've just found out your son or daughter is getting sex education at public school and you want to give them the Islamic perspective on it. Here are some tips that can help you talk to your kids about the “s” word.

Sex education in public schools is part of the curriculum, and unless Muslim parents get involved in discussing this topic from the Islamic perspective, their children will receive information given outside of a Muslim worldview. 

Islamic schools and sex education may seem like a contradiction. But they are the ideal venues to offer Islamically appropriate education about this topic in a proper environment. But are Islamic schools meeting this challenge?
