Duas, or supplications, are a vital form of worship. They are a form of direct communication with Allah, and as the last night of Ramadan approaches, the blessings are multiplied even more so. This is a time that won’t return for another year, until next Ramadan.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “Three supplications will not be rejected (by Allah): the supplication of the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveler” [Bayhaqi & Tirmidhi].
Often times, Duas are said in Arabic, but many non-Arabic speakers have difficulty understanding the deep meaning of the Dua. However, Duas can be made in any language, as Allah knows what’s in our hearts before we ourselves do. Allah says in the Quran: “Call on me, I will respond to you” [40:60]. Given our current climate, filled with hate and negativity, we often feel hopeless.
Use the last day of Ramadan as a time to unload our worries, our troubles to Allah.
