With fall semester underway, campuses all across the nation are welcoming back students eager to learn, explore and define themselves. This is a perfect environment for any Muslim dedicated to fulfilling the obligation of sharing the message of Islam with others. Here are some ways to do that. 

People remember where they were when man first stepped on the moon, they remember where they were when they heard JFK was assassinated, and people will undoubtedly remember where they were when they heard about the terrorism that occurred on September 11, 2001.

As I work toward better control here is surah for Diabetes in Hadith: "the likeness of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember Him is like that of a living to a dead person" (Bukhari). If I forget my health, I die. If I forget Allah, I am already dead.

For Americans the feeling of security is not what it was prior to September 11, 2001.  For Muslim Americans a sense of caution and uneasiness has quickly become a constant state-of-mind.  For Muslim American women, stray glances cause thoughts of fear to emerge where comfort has previously existed.

The aspect of Zikr, the remembrance of Allah, is part of "what sets apart the living from the dead" (Bukhari). Here are some ways to incorporate and ensure Zikr in our everyday lives.
