Dua and Zikr

We have included some Dua(s) for forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad said, the one who repents for a sin is like the one who has not committed a sin (al-Bayhaqi and Ibn Majah). Peace and blessings be upon him. You can use the suggested duas at the bottom of this article.

There are Duas for each aspect of our lives: from eating, going to the bathroom, going by transport to leaving the house. Since there are so many to be learnt, how can we teach kids dua for children?

A unique idea to help kids think about God in a practical way in their daily lives. This prayer station idea will help reinforce the practice of connecting with Allah and relying on Him on daily basis.

So what is Zikr? Sounds like a cool word. Zikr, looks pretty neat in Arabic script.Here are some  specific things we can say to remember Allah.

"The likeness of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember Him is like that of a living to a dead person" (Bukhari). How much do we really remember Allah? As a Challenge to Yourself, keep a journal of how much you do for the sake of Allah. 

Zikr is the Arabic term for remembrance of Allah, the Most Merciful. It is not restricted to the prayer and worship that we do on our prayer rugs five times a day; it is much more than that.
 

The aspect of Zikr, the remembrance of Allah, is part of "what sets apart the living from the dead" (Bukhari). Here are some ways to incorporate and ensure Zikr in our everyday lives.
