Islamophobia has played a major role in shaping the sociopolitical landscape of Western countries since the turn of the century. Unfortunately, women seem to bear the brunt of Islamophobic attacks because they are often the most vulnerable and visible targets.

Islam improves and enhances the culture within a nation and improves the lives of citizens, especially the women. Islam brings balance and order to societies. In the history of humankind, there is a tendency toward unfairness and subjugation of women. In Islam, we know this is wrong.

Universally speaking, the words “strong women” somehow come across as a warning message for the masses and are viewed in a skeptical manner. As if a deliberate attempt is being made to undermine those in power by a unique force, i.e women.

Studies conducted by both the Pew Research Center and the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding report that more than half of the Muslim population in the United States is married.  

Muslim Girls Rise is a collection of stories about contemporary Muslim women who have made a difference locally, nationally, and even worldwide. Written by Saira Mir and published in 2019, it can encourage young Muslim girls to dream big.

For some reason, history teaches us to study about certain people, cultures and places but not all! Such is the case when it comes to Muslim scholars - unless one takes deep interest in the subject matter.
