Do you have a favorite book on your nightstand, one that you keep at arm’s reach for inspiration and solace whenever you’re feeling down? I do. Whenever I need an iman boost, I pick up my permanent nightstand companion, Reflecting on the Names of Allah by Ustadha Dr.

Growing up in Canada as a child of immigrants, I and many others like me were expected to speak English as my native language. In my early years, I spoke the Urdu language – my mother tongue.

"The Earth is a mosque, and everything in it is sacred." This is the first line in Ibrahim Abdul Matin’s book, and it shows the clear connection between environmentalism and faith, Islam in specific.

This book, by Rose Wilder Lane, daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder, is part of her work the "Discovery of Freedom", which is considered a seminal work in the American libertarian movement, and focuses on the Islamic contribution to freedom.

This is an interview conducted in the late 1990s with award-winning Muslim author Rukhsana Khan, whose book "Big Red Lollipop" was listed by New York Public Library as one of the 100 Great Children’s Books in 100 Years.
