Is Allah Jesus?

10 Things Christians Should Know About Muslims And Jesus

A December 2019 Gallup poll found that the percentage of Americans who describe their Christmas celebrations as "strongly religious" has dropped to 35 percent. This is down from about half in previous measures in 2005 and 2010. Nonetheless, Christmas is celebrated by over 90 percent of Americans, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Jesus, God’s peace be upon him.

He is the central figure of Christianity, the religion of the European settlers who came to the U.S., and whose influence has defined American culture for over two centuries. What few Americans know is that he is important in Islam as well.
Here are 10 key things to know about Jesus in Islam:

  1. Jesus is considered a Prophet and Messenger of the One, All-Powerful God. Muslims offer words of prayer after saying his name, as they do for other Prophets and Messengers. In English, the phrase “peace be upon him” is a prayer seeking God’s peace for the Prophet being spoken of.
  2. Muslims love Jesus. We also love Abraham, Moses, and Noah, to name just a few other Prophets Muslims revere. May God's peace be upon all of these great Messengers of God.
  3. Muslims also love the mother of Jesus, Mary. We believe she was a pious and noble woman chosen over all of the women of the world. The 19th chapter of the Quran is named after her.
  4. Muslims believe that Jesus was born miraculously of a virgin mother and no father. His birth is miraculous like the birth of Prophet Adam, the first human being, who was created with neither mother nor father (Quran 3:59).
  5. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the son of God (Quran 5:116). God is so Powerful and Self-Sufficient that He does not need a son or any kind of partner.
  6. In the Arabic Bible the name for God is “Allah”. Arab Christians call God “Allah”, as Muslims do. Prophet Jesus is called “Eesa” in Arabic (sometimes spelled “Isa” or “Eissa” in English).
  7. Jesus did not die on the cross. Rather, God saved him from his enemies and it was made to appear that he was killed (Quran 4:157). He was raised to Heaven.
  8. Jesus performed miracles by the Will of God, like healing the blind and those with leprosy (Quran 3:49).
  9. Jesus prayed to the same All-Powerful One God as all of the Prophets who preceded and succeeded him.
  10. Jesus will return before the end of the world.

The bible was written over a period of about 1600 years by some 40 authors poor farmers, kings, prophets, judges, fishermen, historians. Written in different countries and areas yet all carry the theme of sin separating us from God, God's solution to taking away our sins without works and man being restored into fellowship with God. The Gospel of Luke is 100 percent accurate in archeology, names of places and people. More than 5500 greek manuscripts exist and they are over 98 percent the same. The book of Isaiah was found to be exactly as it was thrunthe dead sea scroll findings. All theological themes are the same genesis thru revelation. It prophesied hundreds of years before hand the place of birth of the messiah, what tribe, name of the town, the messiahs ministry, even his death and resurrection, areas he would minister to, what tribe he was from. No other book has the spirit of prophecy like the holy bible. It prophesied king cyrus before he was born, it prophesied the rise of bablyon when it did not exist, it prophesied the second coming of the messiah by the prophet enoch the seventh from adam. I could go on but anyone who reads the bible with a heart to know the truth will find it. The Word made flesh said I am the Truth and he promised eternal life for those who put their trust and belief in him. Jesus knewnwhere he was going but Mohammed was not even sure if he would enter heaven.

With all due respect, you really need to study Holy Bible.I am a Muslim I believe in Jesus peace be upon him in fact all Muslims do.you can't be a Muslim if u don't believe in Jesus or Moses or Noah or any other messenger of God.The birth of Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was mentioned in the original Bible, I assume you call it the old testament , Jesus himself said that after him there will be another comforter referring to Muhammad S.A.W. Both Muslim and Christians believe in Jesus second coming which is also Described in both The Holy Quran and the holy Bible and also mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W himself. The only thing Muslims disagree is that Jesus Christ is the son of God.which is the reason for our discussion

That's not true I think almost everybody knows there are a lot of differences between the Bible indicator on what you said the very last that the only difference was that that is not the only difference it really isn't that means you're not studying hard enough and somebody is preventing you from looking at something is what I believe is probably Happening but I could be wrong though anyways thank you for taking time to listen to Mike, and forgive me for disagreeing but I think most people know that that's not the only difference peace be upon you bro

None of you have considered that God is not mute, spoke not only to one person or even 40. He is not dead or why follow "HIM"? He is alive the words he spoke are inspired and if your heart is will you will hear what "the spirit is saying" no matter who you are. As God is the creator of all he can reach us all. It is we who must become willing to hear him as he STILL speaks today!

You said God is alive now, so does it mean that he was dead before

Almighty God is much wiser than one could ever think.... but never ever made so difficult to understand him.....in more than 90 verses Jesus, pbuh told the people of bible to worship his father not him, his father is greator of all....and many having similar massages.....never claimed divinty in fact people bring the verse ' i and he are one' and the word become flesh as a mere proove.......
like almighty God is the most wise, he knows someday people will believe that Jesus himself is lord..... so he put this clear message in his Holy-books
mathew 7:21
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
then followed this one
"And behold! God will say [i.e. on the Day of Judgment]: 'Oh Jesus, the son of Mary! Did you say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God?' He will say: 'Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would indeed have known it. You know what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Yours. For You know in full all that is hidden. Never did I say to them anything except what You commanded me to say: 'Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I lived among them. When You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a witness to all things'" (5:116-117).
things all clear dont forget to searth more knowledge and if u see this may Allah, swt make it point for guidance

Hey there,
I respect and encourage the fact that you opened up a delicate subject with no harsh intentions, but with love for universal peace and true freedom.

This matter about wether Jesus is the son of God ( Allah) or not, has made great thinkers try to encode this mystery, but with no definite answers.

But let me clarify my point of view as a Christian and an Arab.

First, the first verse you gave doesn't show any contradictions to the fact that Jesus is son of God, but rather another unrelated message, which is that : it's not by pretending that we're calling the Lord several times that we will earn eternal life, but by showing our real love to Him ( with prayer, good actions and love for every Godly creature : nature and Human beings).

Second, with all due respect to Islam and to the profound and deep messages of love that decorate the holy Qur'an, the second verse you gave has nothing to do with the Bible, and therefore nothing to do with what came out of Jesus and the teachings that He has given to us. If we have to discuss christian theology or philosophy, then we have to discuss it over its reference book and not other books, since Christianity derived from the Bible and not the holy Qur'an. So if the problem resides in Christian philosophy, then it should be solved in Christian teachings.

Third, i would like to share my personal view over what trinity is, but before that, we have to understand that, according to Christianity, we won't ever understand such a big, Godly conception with our reduced humble minds.
The ultimate God, the only and mighty God, has shown to Christianity 3 major capacities of Him, so He can make us understand how He works in general. There's one God. if we get to go to Heaven now, we will see just one mighty King sitting on a throne, smiling to us. And not 3 persons sharing the title of Creator. or else it won't make sense.
But i am already making huge mistakes by simply giving a description of God, since He said, we will see what our eyes never saw, nor will hear what our ears ever heard etc..

But i'm trying to get to a point where i can simplify what God in Christianity is.
God communicated with prophets, but he never did that physically, but rather with the same method, which is through visions, feelings, ideas, wisdom, leadership etc.. Therefore, God simply communicated using the surrounding of the prophet but with a strong Godly impact to avoid misunderstandings. This is what we call the Holy Spirit of God, kind of one of His 3 capacities.

This holy spirit still is present in every one of us, simply because God loves us and wants to be too close to us and to our hearts. Because God is love and forgiveness, and we are called his children. And that's what taught us Jesus.
Jesus is God in Christianity, he is the "son" of God because He humbly appeared as a human, and humans are the creation of God, therefore he called himself "son of God" (my interpretation: son of his own Creation). We call Him God because what He did, and what He taught were Godly and what God actually wanted from us. God came Himself to us to be close and to teach us how to live and how to love and how to truly be his creation, His Godly creation. He is not that pretentious and egocentric and the "too perfect" guy who can't come to us because we are too bad for Him or too worthless. Although we are worthless, we are bad, we are weak, and yes ,He's too perfect for us. But He came to show us what real perfection is, perfection is Love, and Forgiveness, and He came to forgive us, to show us that the biggest king between us should serve the most miserable poor of us. And that's definitely a non Human action.

It's hard to understand what the real conception is since He is God, and He won't show himself entirely simply because our physical brains doesn't have the available capacity, he just wants us to be like kids, stop thinking and worrying, and follow Him, just as we blindly follow our parents when we're kids.

Jesus gave too many signs that He is God, He "resimulated" Godly actions : He gave life, He rose the dead up, He healed, He forgave, He loved, He never sinned, and He didn't die (He did, but broke the law of death, to prove that He defeated Human weakness). That's what proves to us that He is God. Humans do sin, but since He is God --> He is perfect, and even if He's human as Jesus, his perfectness can't lead to " Him falling in sins" , Proof : he resisted the devil in the desert, he accepted to die for us, although he never did anything wrong ( he could've defended himself with words, lies, accusations, cries, and all sort of Human weaknesses that appears when we are put in a hard situation, especially facing death), he Healed the sick, he forgave the sinners, he healed the possessed, he showed purity and perfection which is the absence of sins.

Another proof, between many others, ( i won't get any longer because i already said too much), is that in the end of the Bible, Jesus said to his disciples, "I" will send you the Holy spirit so you can preach to the world my teachings. And it Happened, in fact, we have now the Bible ( the new testament precisely), written by four followers of Christ and who wrote it with no mistakes, since the Holy Spirit of God was strongly active in them ( therefore, God wrote the New Testament, through His disciples in analogy to the Holy Qur'an which is God's book written by the prophet muhammad pbuh). And the last time Jesus appeared to his disciples before going back to God, he asked them to preach : "in the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy spirit" , in the name of the 3 faculties of God that brought to Humans: Privilege, Forgiveness and love.

Please Consider my reply as friendly as your intentions while writing your post, i appreciate your consideration of my own response, as i just intended to express my point of view with what my religion is to me with all due respect to all the other religions, and especially Islam which preaches and love the same one God of ours.

We just Have to Love.

There are numerous accounts in the New Testament which also deny Jesus’ divinity. For example, in Matthew 19:17, Jesus responded to one who addressed him as “O good master”, saying: “Why callest thou me good? There Is None Good BUT ONE, that is God.”(19:17)
If he rejected being called “good”, and stated that Only God is truly good, he clearly implies that he is Not God.
In John 14:28,Jesus was saying: “THE FATHER IS GREATER THAN I.” By stating that the “Father” is greater than himself, Jesus(Peace be upon him) distinguishes himself from God.
People forget this and they say that Jesus is equal to the Father. Whom Should We Believe -Jesus or the People?

(Matthew15:9)(KJV) BUT IN VAIN THEY DO WORSHIP ME, teaching for doctrines the COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. See also Mark 7:7
